The Road is one of our 2009 Obsessions. Here’s hoping that this isn’t true. The novel was amazing…
The Road Trailer
I’m not sure if I’ve seen a more misleading trailer. Anyone who has read this fantastic book knows that a) there is very little action, b) there is NO “catastrophe” they speak of, and c) The Charlize Theron character basically had one paragraph.
Early screenings of the film has given the indication they have stayed true to the Cormac McCarthy’s source material. But The Weinstein Company are having serious financial issues and need to sell this film to the general public. The opening scene of this trailer (the news footage) will never see the light of day in the final cut. Hopefully the Weinstein’s have not butchered something that could be heavily favored during Awards season.
