T-Minus 1 day until Basterds/Inception/Avatar Day
The Film Savior office is chaotic right now.
Not ONE, not TWO, but THREE of our obsessions have special significance this weekend.
You heard about Avatar here first.
You’ve heard rumblings about the hush hush film Inception coming in 2010 here first (HERE) and (HERE).
And Inglorious Basterds has been on our Obsessions list from day one.
Tomorrow, all will unite all three. Inglorious Basterds screening with Inception trailer attached. Afterwards…Avatar Day screening!
Two Obsessions Unite: Basterds and Inception
August 21st, 2009. It’s the battle royale (with cheese). Quentin Tarantino vs. James Cameron.
QT’s Inglorious Basterds releases 8/21/09.
James Cameron announces 8/21/09 is “Avatar Day” by previewing 15 minutes of mind blowing 3-D footage for the rabid fans at select theaters.
QT raises Cameron with a dose of Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight).
In just over a week, we will all get to see who really has the juice. An always celebrated new film from Tarantino or 15 minutes of Avatar? It has just been announced, that the “hush-hush” yet highly anticipated Inception will premiere its first teaser trailer before Inglorious Basterds. Inception is the sci-fi inside the mind currently filming across the globe. It will be Christopher Nolan’s first film since The Dark Knight and boasts an impressive cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt , Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, and others.
Who will get the most buzz next week?

Inglorious Basterds: “Nation’s Pride” Fake Viral Trailer
Here is the trailer for “Nation’s Pride”, the movie within the movie of Inglorious Basterds. The viral video directed by Eli Roth is the main boiling point and activity in IB which revolves around this Nazi propaganda film. Before you get offended, let’s give the trailer some context:
In Inglorious Basterds, Daniel Bruhl plays the German War hero Fredric Zoller who’s marksmanship work in the war have been turned into a Nazi propaganda film directed by Joseph Goebbels. This is set to play at our protaganists (Shosanna) theater where the set up of the film builds up to.
So basically, this is a trailer of a film within the film. Got it?

Don’t say Film Savior never did anything for you!
Inglorious Basterds Soundtrack — Aug 18th
Whether you love him, hate him, obsess over him (ahem), there is no denying one thing about Quentin Tarantino films. They all come with a killer soundtrack. The soundtrack will release on August 18th ahead of the film release. Nothing has been made official, but it is expected to include David Bowie, Billy Preston (keyboardist to little known bands The Beatles and The Rolling Stones), Ennico Morricone (our favorite film composer), and many others.
Notice the old school artwork on the below picture. Much more subtle and intriguing than the film posters that have been released.
The release of a new QT soundtrack is an event in itself, so act accordingly.

Inglorious Basterds International Trailer
Each new trailer for this film keeps getting better. Why does this have to be the international trailer, though?! Bring it to the US and attach it to every summer movie (yes, including Harry Potter).
We still wish that this was made into a Band of Brothers type of HBO minseries instead of one film. QT could have run wild with his multiple story lines. Oh well.
Brand Spankin’ New Inglorious Basterds Trailer
Plot reveal! Explosions! More characters! More bad Brad Pitt accent.
We were down on the last trailer for this film and started getting worried that it wouldn’t live up to the brilliant Tarantino script. Now a brand new trailer was dropped into the Savior’s lap. This one actually gives a small bit of plot, some new character reveals, and a whole lotta action. I’m really hoping that Brad Pitt’s accent works in the context of the film. These snippets aren’t winning him any awards.
And yes, that’s Mike Myers.
Enjoy more Ingloriousness.
New Inglorious Basterds Poster/Video Clip
A new Inglorious Basterds poster has surfaced on the web today thanks to (The Sun). It gives a better overall look of more of the cast, yet still does not convey what this film is truly about (just like the original ones).
We’re still holding out hope for this one.

Inglorious Basterds Teaser
After reading this brilliant script, Inglorious Basterds instantly jumped near the top of our “2009 Most Anticipated List”. After watching this trailer, well, let’s say we’re being cautiously optimistic.
The Brad Pitt accent. Eli Roth as an actor. And that closing line “…and I want my scalps.” Cringe inducing.
That being said, this trailer is misleading. The “Basterds” are only in about 1/2 of the movie. Christoph Waltz who plays Hans Landa, won Best Actor at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival — we don’t even see him here. And after mixed reviews at Cannes on it’s “test run”, Tarantino is furiously re-editing the film before it’s August release date. Crossing our fingers…
